Good Morning Prince William – Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 5th for Literacy Volunteers of America Food for Thought – A Taste of Prince William fun family event.  It’s at the VFW Post #1503 on Minnieville Road in Woodbridge from 6:30-8: 30 pm.  Tickets are $30 and kids 10 and under are free. 30 local restaurants will be there along with door prizes, raffle items and a trivia contest. ·         The General Heiser Boys & Girls Club in Dumfries is looking for volunteer coaches for various skill levels in the girl’s volleyball program age 8-13yrs and the co-ed basketball program for ages 5-15yrs. Typically practice is 1-2 hrs. per week and 2games per week. The basketball season starts June 11-12 and the volleyball season begins June 18th. Come share your love of the game! Good Morning Prince William – Northern VA Family Service has a fun volunteer opportunity for next weekend.  Volunteers are needed on Friday May 25th from 5-7pm to load up merchandise at the Clock Tower Thrift shop in Centreville for the their huge yard sale on Saturday May 26th at the SERVE Shelter. · The wonderful staff at Prince William Conservation Alliance has a Workday at Merrimac Farm scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 9am-12pm. The farm is located at 15014 Deepwood Lane, Nokesville 20181. Volunteers are needed for a morning of weeding, pruning, and watering plants to make sure the Wildlife Garden looks terrific for visitors, and they will also be tidying up and cleaning the Stone House. Good Morning  – Comcast Cares Day is Saturday, April 21 from 7:30am-1pm at the Georgetown South Community in Manassas.  This wonderful partnership with Leadership Prince William brings together hundreds of volunteers to do supper stuff throughout the community.  Grab your friends, family and colleagues to join in the fun.  Tasks for the day include mulching 45 playgrounds, planting the community garden and window boxes, painting and personalizing 30 picnic tables in the green space but most importantly putting house numbers on the rear of all 840 homes in the community for added security and safety.
