John Jewell and the team at JTC, Inc. have been the Chamber’s IT services provider since 2009.
Each month, for the last six years, they have provided a number of in-kind service hours to keep the Chamber staff’s office technology up and running, including regular back-ups. Anyone who has been to a meeting in the Chamber offices has also benefited from JTC’s provision of free WiFi access.
There’s new technology out there that will help you understand what’s going on with your car.
The technology, created by Caarmo, is a diagnostic device that will let drivers know if there is something wrong with their vehicle. It also sends the diagnostic information to a certified auto technician.
HomeTowne Auto Repair & Tire and other area businesses were given an award for their involvement and continued support of the Boy Scouts.
The award was part of the Boy Scout’s 2015 Community Friends for Scouting campaign, which raises money for Boy Scout programs throughout the year.
The site first began as a side project of Fairfax resident Chris LeCompte. With numerous news sites dotted throughout the area, LeCompte found it challenging to quickly access geographically organized news content. NoVA Scanner solves this problem by placing Northern Virginia news on a single page. LeCompte also curates the content, filtering out as many non-news items as possible.
“My goal was to provide a hub for Northern Virginia news,” LeCompte said. “More importantly, I wanted to create a site that’s easy to access for people who don’t have the time to check dozens of local sources independently.”
This weekend kicks off the beginning of the Music at the Marina summer concert lineup at Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge.
The event, sponsored by Steve’s Auto Repair & Tire and the Friends of Leesylvania Park, will be held throughout the summer and will feature local, as well as nationally known bands.
On Saturday, July 4, 2015, Celebrate America with the City of Manassas from 3 to 10 p.m. in Historic Downtown Manassas.
The celebration begins with the Bicycle Decorating contest. At 5 p.m. visitors are invited to take part in a Watermelon-eating contest.

The theme for this summer at the Boys & Girls Clubs is “Super Summer 2015” which includes activities focused on superheroes.

s & Girls Club in Dumfries will be hosting their third annual 3-on-3 Basketball Jamboree.
The jamboree will be at the Dumfries club location on Old Stagecoach Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Early July is that exciting time of year when French teenagers sponsored by LEC (Loisirs Culturels a L’Etranger, founded in 1972 and based in Paris, France) will be arriving into Dulles Airport for a fun-filled three weeks in the Northern Virginia area.
