WOODBRIDGE — With a runway expansion and increased community involvement, Stafford Regional Airport is continuing to impact Prince William County, the airport’s vice chairman, David Ellis, said at the Prince William County Board of Supervisors meeting on September 11.
Ellis highlighted the airport’s growth and future projects to the board.
“I’ve seen a lot of pretty bad situations. I’ve worked explosive cases all around the world: the Embassy bombing in Africa, the Unabomber case, plane crashes in New York and Mexico. The health district is offering free flu shots for those six months and older at the Veterans Park Community Center on Thursday, October 11 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., or while vaccine supplies last. Anyone can get the flu, but those at greatest risk of complications are children, people 65 and older, pregnant women and those with a weakened immune system.

DUMFRIES — Mayor Derrick Wood said the development of Potomac Shores Parkway “has been a point of contention.”
The six-lane road will intersect Routes 1 and 234 in the town, providing access to the new Potomac Shores neighborhood. However, the road must cut through the Town of Dumfries to grant access.
MANASSAS — (Press Release) On September 26, 2018, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the 9200 block of Niki Place for a report of a shooting.
The investigation revealed the victim was arguing with the suspect through an open window in the residence. The argument escalated when the suspect displayed a firearm and began shooting in the direction of the victim.
DALE CITY — (Press Release) On September 25 at 10:59 a.m., officers responded to investigate an attempted robbery that occurred in the area of Dale Blvd and Orangewood Dr in [Dale City] that occurred on September 24 at approximately 5:40 a.m.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when an unknown man approached her. During the encounter, the man brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet.
