The Prince William Board of County Supervisors on Tuesday approved the funds for the new fire and rescue station.
The new fire station was set to improve response times in the west end of the County.

The Prince William County Landfill will host its annual Prince William Recycles Day event on Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Prince William County Landfill will host this free, annual event that will feature “edutainment” by the Chesapeake Mermaid, tours of the County’s amazing landfill, lots of fun games and activities, prizes, face painting, free food, music, recycled art display, equipment and truck displays.
On Sept. 25, a Department of Fire and Rescue crew stopped everything to check on the safety of an elderly woman on the side of the street.
According to Assistant Chief Matt Smolsky, the crew had been clearing an auto accident on Balls Ford Road near Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) when they noticed the woman standing across the street with an oxygen tank.

The recommendations, first released online on Tuesday, Sept. 17, were formally presented during a county planning meeting at the Hylton Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
School Board members blame the efforts to fund the deal, which would have removed the majority of trailer classrooms, on the Board of County Supervisors.
“It’ just seems like there is no desire on the part of the Board of Supervisors to take action on this,” said Woodbridge District School Board member Loree Williams, who also sits on the Joint Schools Working Committee that has been discussing this issue.
