Pamela Montgomery has taken a formidable lead in fundraising as she and Delegate Candi King (D–Stafford, Woodbridge) face each other in Tuesday’s Democratic Primary.

Montgomery has raked in $586,000 in the past two months, with King showing $165,000 in donations. Both candidates have received statewide attention after Montgomery collected nearly $100,000 from Clean Virginia, a Charlottesville-based PAC that backs candidates who refuse to take cash from Dominion Energy, the state’s largest utility.


After a decade-long ban on congressional earmarks, the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives decided to reintroduce the controversial practice this year under a new name, “community project funding.”


Gina Ciarcia stepped into the race for Virginia’s 2nd House District at a time when two other women vying for the seat are embroiled in a bitter primary battle.

A soldier and clinical psychologist who practiced in Prince William County killed during a terrorist attack in Texas were honored on Friday in Woodbridge.

Major L. Eduardo Caraveo was preparing for a deployment to Afghanistan when he was killed in the November 2009 terrorist attack at Fort Hood which took the lives of himself and 12 others.


Arrest made in connection to Dale City shooting; suspects also tied to robbery

Shooting Investigation *ARREST | ADDITIONAL INCIDENTS – On May 18, detectives with the Violent Crimes Bureau concluded an investigation into the shooting that was reported to have occurred in the 3500 block of Forestdale Ave. in Woodbridge (22192) on May 7.

Man, 22 killed in crash in Nokesville

Fatal Crash Investigation — On May 26 at 7:35 p.m., investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 13300 block of Bristow Rd. in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of 2005 Subaru WRX was traveling northbound on Bristow Rd. when the vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a 2013 Nissan Leaf traveling the opposite direction. The driver of the Subaru was extricated from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries sustained during the crash. The driver of the Nissan was also transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Speed is a factor in the crash. The driver of the Subaru was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The investigation continues.
