Winston-Salem, N.C. –– Ryan Buch was literally unhittable for nearly seven innings in Winston-Salem on Memorial Day.  The righthander was lifted from the game with a no-hitter with two outs in the seventh inning, but a pair of relievers shut down the Nationals and allowed only one hit in a 7-1 Dash victory.

Buch had thrown 104 pitches when he was removed, and was rewarded with his first Carolina League win in just his second start with the Dash. With the loss, Potomac has now lost nine games in a row and falls to 18-32.

A heat advisory goes into effect for the Washington area at noon Monday and will last until 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

High temperatures on Monday will be in the low to mid 90s, and in the high 90s on Tuesday. But the humidity will drive up the heat index making it feel like 100 to 105 degrees outside.

The Nationals – who lost the first game 3-2 and the second by a 5-2 tally – have now dropped eight straight games and sit alone in the basement of the Carolina League’s Northern Division.

It only took the Hillcats (21-27) two pitches to take a lead in Game One. Todd Cunningham rocketed Cameron Selik’s first pitch into right field for a triple; Andrelton Simmons belted Selik’s second offering into left field for a sacrifice fly that staked Lynchburg to a 1-0 lead.
