MANASSAS PARK, Va. — Load your gently used but unwanted children’s items in the car and join Manassas Park Parks and Recreation Department at the First Annual Baby Yard Sale. The yard sale takes place at the Manassas Park Community Center on Saturday from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Baby clothes, toddler clothes and even clothes for older kids, as well as toys and accessories will be available. The event will be located in the main parking lot at the Community Center at Costello Park at 99 Adams Street.


WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Senate hopeful George Allen will join Virginia Lt. Governor hopeful and Prince William At-large Board Chairman Corey Stewart on a tour of Woodbridge Wednesday.

Allen will appear at 8 a.m. for a breakfast at Appliance Connection in Woodbridge, a kitchen electrics store owned by Prince William Coles District Supervisor Marty Nohe.


WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Elected officials in Prince William County today voted to do away with discretionary funds.

In a letter from At-large Board Chairman Corey Stewart, the county’s top official announced the Board banned the monies known as slush funds from their budgets. The funds were not in the best interest of the county government or taxpayers, stated Stewart.


WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Virginia Railway Express knows what kind of wireless service it wants on its trains. It just doesn’t have the money to pay for it. 

The transit agency has looked at four ways to provide wireless service so riders can access email and low-bandwidth news and video content on the web via laptops and smartphones. Satellite, cellular, Bluetooth, and Wi-Max connections have all been viewed as possibilities for wireless service on the trains.


STAFFORD, Va. — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information from anyone who has purchased magazines from door-to-door salesmen in the last few months.

The Sheriff’s Office started receiving complaints from citizens at the end of March after citizens purchased magazine subscriptions from salesmen who came to their door. The salesmen claimed that the subscriptions would go toward wounded soldiers or could be sent as a gift or delivered directly to the house.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — OmniLink buses in Woodbridge will now serve the Virginia SkillSource Center on Minnieiville Road, making it easier for job seekers to find employment.


LAKE RIDGE, Va. — It was a rough commute for those headed south to the Potomac Communities on Monday.

At 4:38 p.m., a crash on the Interstate 395’s High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes at Shirlington caused the closure of the express lanes. Drivers were forced off of the two-lane facility while transit buses were permitted to continue to use the lanes, according to PotomacLocal.com Slug Tales writer Laura Cirillo.
