WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Officials failed to forecast the record turnout at polls on Tuesday.

Woodbridge’s River Oaks voting precinct has more than 4,000 active registered voters assigned to it and saw a 64 percent voter turnout rate Tuesday. Voters here waited in long lines, and in line before the polls closed at 7 p.m. waited for up to four hours to cast their votes.


STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Delegate Mark Cole (R- Fredericksburg, Stafford) will hold a series of upcoming town hall meetings to discuss the upcoming General Assembly session in Richmond that begins in January, and to raise money for his upcoming campaign.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Woodbridge’s elected leader Frank Principi is unhappy that some of the last votes cast in his district were at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday night.

Long lines and wait times of up to five hours at Potomac Middle School in the River Oaks Precinct, with only a handful polling machines processing about 30 voters per has now prompted a local town hall meeting, and a call from Democrats to investigate what went wrong.


NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Republicans met Tuesday night at Vinny’s Italian Restaurant in North Stafford to watch election returns roll in.
