NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Stafford authorities tracked down a U.S. Marine at Quantico and charged him with attempted murder.
The charge, along with others, stem from an altercation between the suspect and his wife early Monday at their home in Aquia Harbour.

STAFFORD, Va. — It will soon be easier to obtain residential and commercial construction permits in Stafford County.
Officials this summer plan to begin construction of a new $400,000 permit office that will be built inside the county’s government center in Stafford. When it opens later this year, the Community Development Service Center will be located in a renovated space on the first floor of the government center and will bring together the planning, public works, and zoning departments. The idea: put everyone in the same office and reduce the amount of legwork in the permitting process.
LAKE RIDGE, Va. — Police have a mystery on their hands in Lake Ridge after a man was found unconscious on his doorstep.
Officers were called at 3:13 a.m. Sunday to the 12800 block of Tumbling Brook Lane in Lake Ridge, inside the Rolling Brook apartment complex, after a 29-year-old man came home and began knocking loudly at his front door. Police did not say if the man had become locked out of his home. But another occupant then opened the door and found the man lying unconscious, and then called 911, according to police.
