PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Tourism revenue is on the rise in Prince William County, Manassas, Manassas Park and across the state, according to the latest data released by the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
In 2011, visitors to Prince William generated $487 million in revenue, up almost 10 percent from 2010. In the City of Manassas and Manassas Park, visitors generated about $61 million, up 11 percent from 2010.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – The national spotlight will be cast Friday onto the place many Prince William County Government do business. An email distributed to them, and obtained by PotomacLocal.com, states what county employees should expect when President Barack Obama comes to Richard G. Pfitzner Stadium to stump for his campaign.

LAKE RIDGE, Va. — Candidates who are interested in filling a vacancy on the Prince William County School Board will debate each other on the issues on Tuesday. More in a press release:
On September 25 at Westminster at Lake Ridge, The Prince William Committee of 100 will host a Candidates’ Forum for the Occoquan District seat on the Prince William County School Board. All four candidates who will be on the ballot November 6th have agreed to participate in this forum.
Beginning on or about October 1, the I-95 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) slip ramp from the southbound HOV lanes (south of the Fairfax County Parkway) to the general purpose lanes will close permanently to allow for construction of an additional travel lane for the 95 Express Lanes Project.
Motorists will transition from the HOV lanes to the general purpose lanes using the left exit ramp marked: Route 286 Fairfax County Parkway/Newington/ Ft. Belvoir. The next opportunity to exit the southbound HOV lanes will be at Route 1, Exit 161.
LAKE RIDGE, Va. — The annual Homecoming Parade for Woodbridge Senior High School will begin earlier this year.
In a statement from Prince William Occoquan District Supervisor Mike May, the school will begin lining up the parade floats and cars about 4 p.m. Friday Oct. 12, but the parade will begin a bit earlier this year to avoid impacting the height of the afternoon rush on Old Bridge Road.
I hate it when I realize halfway there that I’m not parked in the commuter lot where the driver is going to drop me off.
