Obituary for Gene A Broderson

Passed on September 16, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer. Gene’s loving wife Lynda of 40 years was with him at the end as she had been through his short but painful illness. His son, Jeffrey and nephew and foster son, Matthew Corrigan, were also by his side. Gene started his career with WOR-TV in New York City where he produced Mets baseball and Romper Room.

Diane Virginia Winget (NEE DAVIS) born Feb. 8, 1959 – Sept. 20, 2013 passed at The Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida.

She is survived by her loving husband Steven Winget, her children: Brandy Harner (husband William), William Harlow III, (wife Emily) and Alyssa Winget, (finance Michael). Grandchildren: Alexis, Michael, Mya and grandson-to-be. Eight siblings, brothers, Herbert and James (deceased), Donald, Wayne and William; sisters Cinderella Collins, Karen Jones and Doris Harr. Also many other friends and family.

Kathleen G. Carter, 65, of Lorton,  died peacefully Thursday, September 19, 2013. Born in Norwood, OH on October 4, 1947, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth Glins. Kathie graduated from Norwood High School in 1965.

Kathie was the devoted wife of 43 years to the late Dauton O. Carter and beloved mother to her daughters, Shannon Murphy (Dan) and Erin Carter. She was a loving grandmother to Sarah Anne Murphy and Madison Anne Murphy.

Louise Frances Bartholomew died peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2013 in Woodbridge, Virginia. Louise was born on January 11, 1917 to William Charles Weber and Thora Christine Helsengreen in Darby, Pennsylvania.

Louise married Miles Franklin Bartholomew on January 17, 1933 and enjoyed over 60 years of marriage before Frank passed away in 1995. Louise served as a forelady at the Alleghenny Ribbon Mill in Quakertown, PA until 1970, where she lived for most of her childhood and adult life. Louise and Frank enjoyed many good years with family and friends during their retirement in Arizona and later Florida. Louise moved to Virginia in 2001 to be closer to family and lived happily at Westminster at Lakeridge for over ten years.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A total of six people face charges in connection to the murder of 18-year-old Kenny Diaz.

Police reported today that Diaz and a group of friends on Saturday went to confront 19-year-old Diandra Samuels after she allegedly robbed Diaz’s friend on Sept. 12.

Delegate Richard Anderson, R-Prince William County, was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2009. He serves the 51st district, which includes a vast amount of Prince William County. He is running up against Democrat, Reed Heddleston for reelection this fall.

Anderson says that Prince William County deserves a candidate that is going to represent and address their needs in the General Assembly.
