Delegate Scott Lingamfelter, Republican incumbent representing the 31st district of the Virginia House of Delegates, has represented Prince William and Fauquier counties since 2002. This election, he is focusing his campaign on hot topics in the northern Virginian region: transportation, education and jobs. He says his 11 years of service to his district displays his loyalty to his constituents.
“I look at myself through the lens of public service. I have been serving the public since the day I took my oath to the constitution in 1973. The people of my district know me,” he says. “I know how to legislate and I know how to get things done in Richmond and that’s awfully important to Prince William and Fauquier counties.”

MANASSAS, Va. — Police said he took stolen credit cards he got from a car in Manassas to a 7-Eleven and a Walmart and used them repeatedly.
The suspect is identified as Scott Anthony Madden, 22, of 9325 Garst Drive in Manassas. The crime has earned Madden the title of Manassas’ Fugitive of the Week.

Maxwell was abandoned as a kitten at our shelter back in November 2011.
He is a very handsome tuxedo kitty who is a bit shy until he gets to know you. Maxwell enjoys his special spot on his kitty condo and likes to watch his surroundings.
Robert L. Riffe, 84 of Locust Grove, Va. died peacefully at his home on September 26 of heart failure. Bob is survived by his wife Jean of 62 years. He is survived by his sons Robert (Pam), Richmond; Brian (Pam), Fairfax Station; Timothy (Robin), Lake of the Woods; and Steven, Jeannette, PA; 12 grandchildren– Rene’, Matthew, Karen, Daniel, Erin, Richard, Michelle, Christopher, Steven, Sean, Samuel, and Cole; and 3 great grandchildren—Lennox, Gabriel, and Norah. He was preceded in death by his brothers Phillip and Noel “Babe” and is survived by his sister Betty Lou Daniel of Lester, WV.
Robert was the son of Haskell O. Riffe and Beatrice (Richmond) Riffe of Lester, WV (near Beckley). Bob attended Beckley College on a basketball scholarship. After marriage in 1951, Bob served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon return to the United States, Bob worked first as an Electronics Technician at Melpar and later at the Night Vision Laboratories, Department of the Army at Ft. Belvoir, VA, retiring in 1993.
