Mom on the Run: The Next Chapter
OK. I give up. This damp rag is not working. I roll back off my knees onto my heels, stand up, and cross the kitchen. I pull open a silverware drawer, slide aside the divider with the knives and forks, and root around in the assortment of random mismatched implements. Finally I find what I’m looking for: an old steak knife from probably the 1970s, donated to our then-new family by my in-laws when my husband and I set up our household in 1989.

RICHMOND, Va. – While Terry McAuliffe and Ken Cuccinelli duke it out in the gubernatorial election, another race is being fought more quietly – one that could have a deciding effect on Virginia’s legislative system.
Democratic state Sen. Ralph Northam is facing Republican preacher E.W. Jackson in the race for lieutenant governor. But GOP officials may be smiling even if Jackson loses, as polls predict. That’s because Northam would have to give up his seat in the now-evenly-divided Virginia Senate – opening the door for Republicans to capture an outright majority in that chamber.

I am increasingly troubled this campaign season by the tactics political candidates have used, particularly against conservative candidates. As a voter in the 51st House District, I received numerous mailers from Democrat Reed Heddleston claiming that our Delegate, Rich Anderson, wants to take away women’s birth control and that women who have miscarried should be investigated. As an informed voter, I asked Delegate Anderson directly about this.
STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — All five high schools in Stafford County will once again come together to fight hunger Monday, Nov. 11.

Dear editor:
Bob Marshall has served Virginia’s District 13 for 22 years. While we appreciate his service, he is no longer the right delegate to represent the citizens of our district.
