WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Hundreds of moviegoers sat below the big screen under the stars Sunday night.

They came out to Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center in Woodbridge to watch a double feature of “Mary Poppins” and “Savings Mr. Banks.” Both Disney films, the former is a classic tale that depicts a nanny who comes to work for the family of a banker, starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. The latter is the story behind the making of the Mary Poppins movie, starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson.

LAKE RIDGE, Va. — Two storm water management ponds have floated to the top of the list of needed storm water improvements along the Occoquan River.

Prince William County officials walked six miles and looked at 20 streams in the Occoquan River watershed, which includes streams and creeks that collect rainfall in areas like Brenstville and Independent Hill and points south of Manassas, where it then flows toward the Town of Occoquan and Lake Ridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA – Prince William Republicans performed community service activities around Prince William County this past Saturday for a “Day of Summer Service,” which is part of a new Prince William Republican Committee Community Service Initiative. The day consisted of Prince William Republicans serving as volunteers during the Bull Run Warrior Retreat 2nd Annual “Ride for Warriors Poker Run” in Haymarket and as volunteers preparing and serving a meal at the ACTS Homeless Shelter in Dumfries.

“Our ‘Day of Summer Service’ was a great opportunity for Prince William County Republicans to get out in the community to serve wounded warriors and fellow County residents who are in need,” said Chairman Bill Card, who is serving his second two-year term as Chairman of the Prince William Republican Committee. “Our Initiative’s theme, ‘Committed To Service,’ is a reflection of our principles – community involvement and servant leadership.”


WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Washington Nationals have announced LF Bryce Harper and C Wilson Ramos will both join the Potomac Nationals on rehabilitation assignments beginning Monday, June 23rd.

Harper of Las Vegas, Nev. is slated to be in a Potomac Nationals uniform both Monday and Tuesday, June 24, while the length of Ramos’ rehab stint with the P-Nats is to be determined.
