The Prince William board of supervisors will not be getting a raise.

Following a board meeting on June 15, and a contentious closed session that led to two board members walking out of the room, the board ultimately tabled the issue.

Virginia State Police will slowly roll traffic on I-95 southbound to a stop just after midnight at the Fall Hill Avenue overpass, located between Exit 133/Falmouth and Exit 130/Route 3 at Fredericksburg. The traffic stop is estimated to last 15 minutes.

Workers are moving a crane from the interstate shoulder to the median to collect heavy construction materials. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is building a new interstate overpass at Fall Hill Avenue.

Forty-one Mustangs Track Club athletes have qualified for the 2015 Amateur Athletics
Union (AAU) Jr. Olympics, which will be held August 1-8 on the campus of Norfolk State University. The
athletes advanced to the national event after a strong showing at the AAU Region 5 Qualifier Meet in
Suffolk, VA June 26-28th.

When coaches Raymond Gee and Damien King completed their 2014 track season, they purposed to
make 2015 even greater. Together, the duo and their team of volunteer coaches have expanded the
reach of the club, which includes practice sites in Culpeper, Manassas and Fairfax. Although the club was
established three years ago, this is its second season competing in AAU. “I’m blessed to have such a
great coaching staff and parents that understand the dedication and hard work it takes to get to this level,”
states Gee.

Prince William police and fire rescue now has a new 9-1-1 calling system in place.

The new system – called Premier One – which had a contracted cost of $16.4 million is being managed by Motorola.
