Annette (Adams) Lagerstrom, 81, widow of Ronald Norman Lagerstrom formerly of Robin Street in Staunton passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Lagerstrom was born on February 3, 1934 in Parowan, UT, a daughter of the late Frank Mitchell and Buyrle Emeline (Hibbert) Adams. Annette was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. She retired from Prince William County Health Department as a Registered Nurse with 28 years of service, was a United States Navy nurse, enjoyed speed reading, classic books, cross stitching, knitting and crocheting.

On Friday January 8, 2016 from  10 -11 a.m., ’s Pre-K Volunteer Program, Aquia Christian Serves, will serve the Stafford County based nonprofit organization, S.E.R.V.E.

S.E.R.V.E. is an emergency assistance food pantry that provides assistance to families one time a month, a Community Pharmacy, and Emergency Financial Assistance for residents of Stafford County. Our Pre-K Students (3 and 4 year olds) will be traveling to the facility and sorting/packaging canned food items for the organization.

The installation of a new aircraft will mean the closure of the National Museum of the Marine Corps starting Monday.

A World War II SBD Dauntless dive bomber will be added to the museum’s collection of artifacts that tell the history of the Marine Corps from the founding of the U.S. through the Vietnam War. The aircraft will be hung from the ceiling of the central gallery.

Water bills could be going up for some Prince William County residents.

The proposed increase for Virginia American Water customers would mean a 30% increase for customers in Prince William County. Virginia American Water’s Prince William customers are in the eastern portion of the county while the separate Prince William Service Authority provides water service for all other areas of the county.
