On the evening of Thursday, November 5th the Dominion Valley Market Square shopping center welcomed in a new small business with the grand opening of Macaron Tart, a French Pasterisse that specializes in naturally made sweets and baking classes. Owner Elena Hocking welcomed Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Corey Stewart and Gainesville District Supervisor Pete Candland as well as business, government and civic leaders to join the Macaron Tart in celebrating small business at this community event.

The evening began with an array of baked goods, both sweet and savory, as those in attendance marveled at the creations made by French trained pastry Chef and owner Elena. She welcomed the crowd to the Macaron Tart as she spoke of how excited she was to bring a taste of Paris to Haymarket to share with the community.

The Town of Occoquan will host its annual tree lighting event in Historic Occoquan on Friday, November 20, 2015, at 8:05 p.m. at Town Hall, 314 Mill Street, Occoquan, VA 22125.  Each year, the Town decorates a 15-foot spruce tree located on the Town Hall grounds with holiday lights and festive ornaments and invites the public to participate in a special ceremony led by Mayor Elizabeth Quist to officially light the tree for the upcoming holiday season.  

This year’s tree decorations were donated by local business The Polka Dot Divas, and decoration installation services were donated by Virginia Lawn Services, Inc.

To celebrate Veterans Day, Prince William Republicans will show their appreciation for veterans, active duty military, and their families by hosting a free dinner. The Prince William Republican Women’s Club will host its 3rd Annual Veterans Day Eve Dinner on Tuesday, November 10 at 7pm in Manassas. The event is open and free to any veteran, military member and their families, regardless of political affiliation.

The dinner will include Italian food, and will take place at the Regency Apartments Community Room, which is located at 11201 Partnership Lane, Manassas, VA 20109.
