Fredericksburg line riders who Virginia Railway Express will see a new train starting Monday.
Virginia’s only commuter railroad added a new morning and afternoon train following the opening of the system’s Spotsylvania station last week. The new morning 304 train leaves Spotsylvania station bound for Washington’s Union Station at 5:23 a.m. The new afternoon 303 train leaves Union Station at 3:10 p.m.
Fire and rescue crews were called to a home in Dale City on Tuesday. They said the fire started after a man was working to repair his vehicle.

Popular Catholic singer-songwriter and speaker, Steve Angrisano, will lead a three-part Advent reflection series at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Triangle, Va., over three consecutive nights: Sunday, December 13; Monday, December 14; and Tuesday, December 15. Start time for all three events is 7 p.m.

Eager children and their families looking to experience the joy and magic of the holiday season can do so this month and next at Potomac Mills.
From now through December 24th, children can visit and be photographed with Santa in the Grant Court near TJMaxx and the Children’s Play area. Hours of operations are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Santa Claus will be making his holiday arrival at the Southern States Cooperative in Manassas on Saturday, December 12th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m to visit with children, and pets.
The Boy Scouts had another successful year of Scouting for Food, their annual food drive in Prince William.
Scouts from ages 6 to 18 participated, dropping off bags for residents to fill with donated food, and knocked on doors in the community to help collect the food for people in need.
Manassas police are lauding the efforts of one of their own.
