Road crews on Interstate 95 in Woodbridge will close the northbound portion of the highway in the area of Cardinal Drive just before the exits for Dale City and Rippon Landing.

Ellen Purdy resigned from the Manassas City School Board six months before the end of her term.

Millions of dollars of funds for Prince William County Public Schools remain up in the air.
The County’s Board of Supervisors passed its fiscal 2017 $1 billion budget — more than half of which goes to the county school division to provide majority funding for the education of 87,000 students in its 95 schools. The Board of Supervisors budget left the School Board about $7 million short of revenues it had anticipated getting if Supervisors had set and adopted a tax rate, which would have generated a higher average tax bill for county property owners.
Thomas Mannion, 43, of Prince William County died of a gunshot wound.
Police found Mannion in a home in the 9500 block of Hensley Road, off Lucasville Road suffering from a gunshot wound at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, May 12. He was taken to a hospital where he later died, said Prince William police Sgt. Jonathan Perok.
