Prince William Sheriff Glen Hill is growing his eviction team at a time the number of evictions in the county are on the decline.
The county’s Board of Supervisors increased funding for the courthouse in this year’s budget to the tune of $300,000. Part of the new money will fund two new deputies this upcoming 2017 budget year starting July 1, and two in 2018. The Department will also pick up two new vehicles.
Police are investigating the death of a 14-year-old boy in Dale City. They’re calling the boy’s death a homicide.

There is new development happening at Marumsco Plaza.
A new 14,850 square foot building is under construction at the front of the plaza next to busy Route 1 in Woodbridge.
Central Library provides books, reference materials, and online access to people in Manassas, Manassas Park, and those who live in cities’ outskirts in Prince William County.
The 45-year-old building sits on Mathis Avenue on a tract of land just barely located in Prince William. The land was a gift from Manassas Park.

The Manassas City Council on Wednesday night unanimously approved its fiscal 2017 budget.
City leaders adopted a tax rate of $1.403 per $100 of assessed property value. The average residential property tax bill will increase about three percent to $3,778, said City Manager Patrick Pate.
The woman killed in an hit and run crash Tuesday morning in was a suspect in a robbery.
A bicyclist was struck while riding in the area of Dale Boulevard and Birchdale Avenue in Dale City at 1:08 a.m. Tuesday, May 10. The bicyclist was headed west on Dale Boulevard in the left lane when a driver struck the rider.
