Tonya Joy Jocewicz, age 43, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away on April 17, 2017. Loving mother of Deanna Mace and Sierra Mace. Adored daughter of Donald and Patricia Jocewicz. Dear sister of Donna Howard, Justin Jocewicz (Julissa), and Melissa Romero (Salvador), Cherished aunt of Jacob Howard, Dylan Howard, Jared Howard, Aidan Howard, Jonathan Jocewicz, Josiah Jocewicz, Raquel Sosa and Marlissa Romero. Also, survived by brother in law James Howard, long time friend Dawn Bird and the father of her children; Joseph Mace.

Tonya was an accomplished musician. She loved writing songs, singing, playing the guitar, piano and many other instruments. She also had a passion for and composed electronic beat recordings. She had an amazing talent to play music by ear and to play instruments. In her off time, Tonya enjoyed creating music, socializing with her friends, traveling and working out. She was working as a security officer for Kaiser Permanente and recently achieved her security guard certification.

Forrest Grant Dotson, age 37 of Manassas, VA died at Medstar Georgetown Hospital on April 19, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Ulysses Grant Dotson, Jr and is survived by his loving mother Ruth Ann Bean Dotson; his sisters Melody Sue Lagrave, Barbara Dawn Cleary, Michelle Renee Jansen and Charity Anne Pearson. He is also survived by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patricia Carol Tuthill, age 71, of Montclair, VA, passed away on April 21, 2017. Beloved wife of 46 years to Lanny Y. Tuthill. Loving mother of Kendra Tuthill, and Scott Tuthill (Amy). Cherished grandmother of Hailey Tuthill and Brody Tuthill.

Patricia was loving wife, mother and grandmother, She enjoyed gardening, jazzercising with Gerda’s Girls, and crocheting. She will be missed by all who knew her.

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: 

On April 21, 2017, at approximately 2:46 AM, a resident of Somerset Landing called 9-1-1 to report subjects tampering with cars on Pinehurst Lane. The caller advised that a van, without its headlights illuminated, was traveling slowly down the street while two subjects with flashlights were running back and forth from the van to parked cars. A car alarm was then activated, and the subjects dispersed. Multiple patrol units responded immediately to the area.


Obituaries

Ruth Darlene Johnson, age 80 went home to glory on April 21, 2017, after a long illness. She was the widow of Lee Randolph Johnson and celebrated 52 years of marriage until his death in 2004. She was born on September 29, 1936 in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Fred M. and Ruth Zimbro Dove. She was also preceded in death by her brother Herbert Dove of Fairfax.

Ruth was a lifelong Virginia resident and was active in various churches serving as WMU and choir directors as well as a Sunday and Vacation Bible School teacher. An avid gardener, she was active in the Woodbine Homemakers Club.

From Prince William police: 

Sexual Assault Investigation – On April 17, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence in Manassas (20112). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 13-year-old female juvenile, was sexually assaulted by the accused, an acquaintance, on more than one occasion in November of 2016. The victim recently disclosed the incidents and the police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on April 19 without incident.
