If shovels were to hit the dirt today, a new police station in Manassas could cost $18.5 million.

An April 2017 study outlines a new police station, dubbed public safety center. The station would be located in the old Grant Avenue Shopping Center in the southwest corner of the city, near Georgetown South.

Elmer “Bob” Wiser, 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family Friday, June 9, 2017 at his home in Catlett, Virginia.

An entrepreneur, he worked in the trucking and landfill industries before retiring to his farm. He enjoyed farming and hunting and his dog “Buddy” along with time spent with family and friends.

A proposal to send the Potomac Nationals stadium deal to the voters failed on a tie vote.

The Prince William County Board of Supervisors voted to kill a plan to place a stadium referendum on the November ballot after midnight Wednesday, following nearly three hours of discussion. If it had passed, the minor-league team’s owner Art Silber threatened to walk out of negotiations and sell the team that has played in Woodbridge since 1984.
