Clint Ian Gaskins, 36, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away on August 6, 2017. Beloved husband of Shannon (neePowell) Gaskins. Loving father of Brooke Gaskins. Adored son of Eric I-M Gaskins and Sabrina D. (nee Crisman) Gaskins. Dear brother of Torenya Strauss (Rick), Ericia Gaskins, Tiffany Gaskins, Jim Oltmann, Joe Oltmann (Erika), Eric Gaskins, and Chris Gaskins (Brittany). Cherished uncle of 12 nieces and nephews. Devoted son-in-law of Janet and Donnie Powell.

Clint was a business partner in a tech. company with his brother Joe. He was a man who loved life and lived it to its’ fullest. He met life’s challenges head on. A devout family man, his love was unwavering. As a friend, there was no one better. If you were in need, Clint was right there to assist. He loved to ride his motorcycle and dirt bikes. He will truly be missed by all who knew

Alfred Lawrence Jachimowicz (1st Sgt, USMC, Ret.), age 86, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away on August 6, 2017. Beloved husband of 62 years to Joan (nee O’Connor) Jachimowicz. Loving father of Walter D. Jachimowicz (Teri) and Ann M. Henderson (Mark). His daughter Sharon F. Hale predeceased him. Her husband Ronald still survives. Cherished grandfather of Casey Jachimowicz, Anna Jachimowicz, Claire Jachimowicz, and R. Nathan Hale. Great grandfather of Riley Kay Kruse. Dear brother of Stanley Kobus (Pat), and Joanne Possie Joseph). He was predeceased by 11 siblings; Mary (Stanley), Irene (Jack), Vernal (Vincent), Adele (Steve), Sabina (Ray), Eddie, Rudolph (Rose), Henry, Edward (Marilyn),Larry (Carol) and Eugene (Paulette).

Alfred retired from the United States Marine Corps. after 22 years of service as a 1st. Sergeant. He then became a Police Officer for the Capitol Police in Washington, DC for 20 years. During his military career, he was wounded twice in Korea, and received two purple hearts. Alfred loved woodworking, and was very proud of his doll houses that he made. His yard and lawn were his passion. It was stated that you knew where the Jachimowicz house was by the manicured lawn and yardwork. Alfred and Joan were Charter Members of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was the head usher for the Saturday evening mass. He was a family man and a great American, who will be missed by all who knew him.

Strangulation | Brandishing a Firearm – On August 2 at 3:05 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 7000 block of Lakota Drive in Woodbridge to investigate an assault involving weapons. The investigation revealed the victim, a 31-year-old woman, and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated physically.

The Prince William County Convention and Visitors Bureau, known as Discover Prince William/Manassas, will be dissolved.

The county’s Board of Supervisors voted to move ahead with a plan to end the nonprofit company with $1.1 million of its majority funding from transient occupancy taxes, known as “TOT” or hotel taxes, and move its employees into the parks and recreation office.
