First Friday is a great event and tradition where community members come together to support local businesses and spend time in our city’s historic area. All of the City bike racks, what they term as “school house bike racks,” are being replaced in our parks and around the City with these more bicycle rider preferred bike racks over the next two years or so. Others will be popping up in convenient locations as budgets allow. These new bike racks not only promote the City’s brand, but also look great and encourages our pedestrian and bike friendly community to explore the City.
It’s back to to the overhead route for Dominion’s Haymarket Powerline.
The utility abandoned its plan to build along the controversial Carver Road route, which would have seen a power line built where some of Virginia’s first freed slaves made their home after the Civil War.
