WOODBRIDGE — When it comes to seeing the signs, Supervisor Ruth Anderson thinks Prince William County may have lost its way.
The Occoquan District Supervisor this week issued what’s known as a “directive” to county staff members to look at the types of signs used to showcase everything from historical sites, parks, and welcome signs posted at entrances to the county on Routes 1, 123, 15 and others.

Joyce Geraldine Hackworth Miller passed away on September 15, 2017 in Gainesville, VA. She was a dearest mother, grandmother, friend and aunt. She was born on August 24, 1933 in Ruble, Missouri and was preceded in death by her husband, Warren L. Miller, brother James Earl Hackworth, sister Irma Josephine Spotswood and infant son, Gregory Randall Bucher. Survived by her son, Gary L. Bucher (Liz), granddaughters Lauren and Claire and dear nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be scheduled for family and friends at a later date. The world is a better place because of her love and kindness. She will be greatly missed by many. In lieu of flowers, the family ask tor donations to wholekidsoutreach.org or the charity of your choice.

Residents who live aboard Quantico Marine Corps Base are reporting a funky discoloration to their water.
For the past three days, Quantico officials say they’ve received multiple phone calls from concerned residents who say the water color is off. That has led to the additional testing of the water on base, and officials tell us they’re looking for the cause of the problem.
