FAIRFAX—George Mason University’s School of Music presents the Woody, Bird, and Diz Jazz4Justice™ Concert on Friday, November 10 at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas and Saturday, November 11 at the Center for the Arts in Fairfax. Obituaries

Born in Germany on August 15, 1946, he was the son of the late Josef and Hedwig Schmid Biendl. On June 15, 1968, in Canterbury, England, he married his wife, the former Barbara Cook.

Ernst worked for 49 years as a Tool & Die Maker for the former Hoppmann Corporation in Culpeper and Chantilly. He played soccer for the British Embassy and continued his love of the sport through coaching in the Northern Virginia area for many years. He was also the Varsity Soccer Coach at Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield.
