PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Those who serve the community were recognized on Sunday.

Volunteer Prince William held its annual community-wide Volunteer Recognition Ceremony at Ben Lomond Historic Site just outside Manassas, at 10321 Sudley Manor Drive. The event drew more than 200 volunteers from across Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park who were all recognized for their service to various organizations.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On May 23 at 8:11AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Old Carolina Rd and Piedmont Vista Dr in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a crash involving a Prince William County school bus and a 2007 Ford F-150XLT landscaping pick-up truck.

MANASSAS — It’s a summer ritual in Downtown Manassas: replacing the bricks in the crosswalks in some of the city’s busiest intersections.

Heavily-trafficked Route 28 runs right through the heart of downtown, where more than 20,000 cars per day travel the street, according to daily traffic counts from the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Since the Veterans Administration (VA) scandal broke in 2014, Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) across the country have worked with Congress to ensure greater accountability, transparency, and efficiency in delivering quality care to our veterans.

The current VA Choice Program is one of those opportunities. With over two million veterans using the Choice Program to schedule over 39 million essential appointments, it is in danger of running out of funding by the end of the month. Without funding, millions of our nation’s warriors will lose access to the care they desperately need.
