MANASSAS — The system was restored Monday afternoon after t went down on Friday, leaving customers who rely on paying their electric bill online in the dark. Those who couldn’t pay their bills online, and called NOVEC’s call center were placed into an automated queue which allowed them to pay their bills over the phone with a service fee.

DUMFRIES — Some hotel owners are celebrating after Dumfries officials voted to lower the town’s tax on hotel rooms.
The Dumfries Town Council on June 5 voted to lower the transient occupancy tax, also known as the tax on hotel rooms. One hotel praised the council.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Melvin Reynolds never envisioned himself as a foster parent.
But he took in his first youth in need, a 17-year-old boy, seven years ago. Reynolds worked with youth in residential care and then, one day, found himself taking care of foster children in his Montclair home.
