Espinosa comes to Stafford from Montgomery County, Maryland, where he is Director of the Department of Finance and has more than 21 years of experience in budgeting and finance, managing an annual budget of $5 billion.

OCCOQUAN – (Press release) The Town of Occoquan recently received a new historical marker, situated at the base of the Nathaniel Ellicott footbridge and the town’s River Mill Park.
The new marker details the history of the Ballendine Ironworks and the Janney Cotton Mill. According to Mayor Earnie Porta, the marker is the brainchild of Mill House Museum Administrator, Dolores Elder, who spearheaded the effort through the Occoquan Historical Society, which paid for the marker.

WOODBRIDGE — A $36 million renovation of Northern Virginia Community College’s Woodbridge campus is expected to start in fall 2020. The Seefeldt Building will be updated to include centralized student services, new classroom spaces, and updated infrastructure.
The renovation, which will take approximately 18-24 months, will provide badly-needed updates and changes to the nearly 50-year-old building.
MANASSAS — Joseph Gabalski won’t return next year as Osbourn High School Principal.
Gabalski was named school principal in June 2017. It is the only position he ever held with Manassas City Public Schools and he will exit the school at the end of June.
Our wonderful wife and mother, Heidi Helpern Keene left this earth on March 27, 2019. She is no longer in pain.
Born on May 10, 1948 in Boston MA to the late Maurice Helpern and his wife Jacqueline Rutherford Helpern who survives her. Heidi was an incredible woman. She was not only a great wife and mother but an outstanding nurse who gave her all for her patients. She injured her back helping a patient twenty years ago and has been in constant pain ever since. Through the pain, she always managed to smile and share her time and love with her husband of almost 50 years David Robert Keene who survives her. They were truly best friends and shared a love like no other.She leaves behind her son’s David Keene II (Maureen) and Marc Goodman. Her 6 grandchildren will miss her and carry her memory in their hearts. Her brother, Dr. Joseph Helpern of SC and her sisters Amy Fischman of SC and Holli Levy of MD are going to miss her beautiful smile and loving heart.
