DUMFRIES — Stafford County’s newest resident was born on the floor of a fire station in Dumfries.
Kasey Lynnett Smith, 28, went into labor on Thursday, April 18. She was in a car with her mother, who was driving her to Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge to deliver the child. Senatra, she said, is “where my doctors are.”

WOODBRIDGE — A Woodbridge author’s new book is inspired by spending time in the area’s homeless camps.
Richard Garon’s new novel, “Lee Fits,” is dedicated to Russell J. Campbell, a man he met in the homeless camps, situated alongside area streets. The wooded area around Potomac Mills malls has long been a haven for homeless living in tents in self-sustaining communities.

WOODBRIDGE — Firefighters were dispatched to 1940 Wicklow Court Woodbridge for a house fire at 4:58 p.m. Saturday.
Firefighters arrived and found smoke showing from a rear window in an adjacent Townhome at 1942 Wicklow Court.

Embrey Mill hasn’t just become one of the biggest neighborhoods in Stafford County, it’s also got a cool wine thing happening.
