FREDERICKSBURG — (Press Release) Fredericksburg Baseball kicked off sales of season tickets on December 1 with its “Founders Club” event held in historic Market Square. That day, more than 185 individuals and groups joined the Founders Club representing more than 600 reservations for full season ticket plans.

By joining the Founders Club, these fans locked in the ability to be the first fans to select their season tickets at the team’s new state-of-the-art ballpark scheduled to open in 2020 in Celebrate Virginia South.

STAFFORD — Teachers and school faculty could see a five percent increase in their yearly salaries if a new proposal is included in the School Board’s budget.

The Stafford Education Association proposed an across-the-board increase for all employees during a budget committee meeting with the School Board held in early November.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — (Press Release) — After all the holiday festivities are finished, don’t heave your holiday greenery to the curb.

Give your Christmas tree, wreath and other cut greenery another life as compost, mulch or wildlife habitat. Simply remove all ornaments, decorations, tinsel, nails and the tree stand and take the greenery to one of the locations listed below to be recycled or repurposed.


STAFFORD — (Press Release) A suspect was arrested by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office in the early hours of Saturday morning for reckless handling of a firearm.

On December 15, 2018, Deputies Potter and Kellam responded to a reported domestic incident with a weapon on the 100 block of Colebrook Road. Several callers reported hearing shots fired in the area.


WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release) Bank Robbery – On December 14 at 9:15 a.m., officers responded to the Smoketown Road in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery.

The investigation revealed that an unknown man entered the bank then approached the teller counter. During the encounter, the suspect United Bank located at 13870 Smoketown Road implied he had a weapon and demanded money.
