STAFFORD — (Press Release) The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of several vehicle tampering incidents that occurred in the early morning hours on Wednesday in the Stafford Lakes subdivision.

On January 30, 2019, Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to Emerald Drive for a report of vehicle tampering. Upon arrival, they reviewed video footage with the homeowner which showed a suspect entering the vehicle earlier that evening. The victim did not find anything missing from the vehicle.


PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — (Press Release) On January 29 at 8:35 a.m., officers responded to the 15300 block of Nottingham Dr in Manassas (20112) to investigate a man who was walking around the neighborhood naked.

When an officer arrived, he located the man standing naked in the middle of Nottingham Dr. The officer determined the accused was under the influence of an unknown substance and attempted to detain him.

STAFFORD — County teachers on are on tap for a  five percent raise in this year’s budget instead of the two percent originally planned.

Superintendent Dr. Scott Kizner unveiled his planned budget for FY 2020 that would begin on July 1. The requested budget will be around $328.5 million which is a 13 percent increase from the FY 2018 budget.

That’s the term coined by state officials and Transurban, operators of the E-ZPass Express Lanes on I-95, 395, and 495, when they signed an agreement to build and maintain the lanes under former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell.

MANASSAS — Manassas leaders Monday night passed a resolution in support of ratification by the Commonwealth of Virginia of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to the U.S. Constitution.
