Election Day comes around every year on the first Tuesday in November. Yes — in Virginia — there is an election every year. But yet, somehow, conservatives said they missed this one.

When Virginia’s Department of Rail and Public Transportation announced two new routes for its popular Breeze inter-city bus service, the first thing I noticed was a dot on a map noting a potential new bus stop in Gainesville.

Since the Virginia Breeze launched two years ago offering service from Blacksburg to Washington, D.C., there have been no stops in Prince Willliam County.

More than 2,000 people packed the Stafford County Government Center on Courthouse Road on Tuesday night.

The majority of them urged the county’s Board of Supervisors to pass a resolution declaring Stafford a county that would uphold a key freedom guaranteed in the Bill of Rights — the right to bear arms.

Manassas residents lined up to speak in favor of Carmello’s and Mozna, two restaurants of the same owner in Downtown Manassas that came under fire late last month for improvements it made to its building.

A petition with at least 300 signatures of city residents was presented to the city council on December 9. It urged leaders to reverse the council’s decision to require the restaurant to change the color of its brick facade on the front of the restaurant from a Mediterianian-style white to red brick, to match the other buildings in the downtown area.
