OmniRide is shifting the center of its local bus service in western Prince William County to Manassas, which will become the main transfer point for local bus service in the area starting Monday, December 9.

The current western local bus western transfer point is Manassas Mall but will become the Prince William County Courthouse. OmnRide says these are the most revolutionary changes for its system in the past 15 years.

It’s become one of my favorite, annual  Christmastime traditions — seeing the President’s Own Marine Corps Band perform live at the National Museum of the Marine Corps.

The Marine Corps Band will perform at 7:30 p.m on Saturday, Dec. 14 inside the museum’s Leatherneck Gallery, as it does every year. The concert is free to attend, but the band always packs the house, so you’ll want to arrive early to get a good seat.

Join the New Dominion Choraliers put on a concert to honor the 250th Anniversary of the USA! The music in this choral concert captures the heart and soul of the American spirit through patriotic tunes and songs from the heartland. Joining the chorus are dancers from Dance Etc. School of the Arts and accompaniment from the talented members of Legacy Brass.

This family friendly and FREE event is perfect for young and old. Kids, parents, and grandparents will be familiar with many of the songs in this inspirational program. There are two opportunities to attend: Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 pm or Sunday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m.

Jaracy Ann Smith, 62, of Alexandria, Virginia was called home to be with the LORD on November 16, 2019. She was born on August 5, 1957 to Roosevelt and Ruth Annalee Smith in the City of Alexandria. She was affectionately called “Joycee” from a young age by family and friends. She was educated in the public-school systems of Washington DC and the City of Alexandria.

All throughout her life, Joycee was dedicated to taking care of others. Even though she was the youngest of all her siblings, Joycee was the “glue” that held the family together. She would coordinate all the family functions and holiday gatherings, often hosting them at her house and cooking most of the food. Family and friends would often make requests for her southern cooking as she was best known for her collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and just about everything else – – especially cakes and pies. While she often let others be the “life” of the party, she would not hesitate to make a funny joke or tell a hilarious story about herself or other family members. Joycee was outspoken but soft-hearted. As a testament to her strong faith in the LORD, her generosity was always on display as she would often donate food, provide housing and assist anyone in need. She was a dedicated, faithful member of the Harvest Assembly Baptist Church.
