On Tuesday, May 19, the Dumfries Town Council will vote on whether or not to hire an Interim Town Attorney from Pandak & Associates.

At their last town meeting on Tuesday, May 5, the town council decided to fire their former attorney, Brendan McConnell. The motion was made by Councilwoman Selonia Miles and seconded by Councilwoman Cydny Neville. 


A homeless woman was sexually assaulted by a man who is now on the run.

Police were called Thursday, May 14, at 7:20 p.m. to the 3200 block of Golansky Boulevard in Woodbridge to investigate a sexual assault call, according to a Prince William County Police press release. The press release states that the victim, a 55-year-old woman, told police that she was lying in her tent in a wooded area off Golansky Boulevard when a man approached.

Residents in Stafford County won’t be penalized for paying personal property taxes or utility bills after their due dates.

Penalties for personal property and utility bills have temporarily been reduced to zero. The move by the Stafford County Board of Supervisors comes as many people have found themselves either furloughed or unemployed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.


Prince William

The Prince William County Government is offering free coronavirus tests for all members of the community on Monday, May 18, and Tuesday, May 19. 

The tests will be conducted at the Hylton Memorial Chapel, 14640 Potomac Mills Road, Woodbridge on May 18  and at Stonewall Jackson Senior High School, 8820 Rixlew Lane, Manassas on May 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The tests will be conducted via drive-thru and walk-up, according to a press release from the Prince William County Government.
