I read your article about the planned homeless shelter and hope you’d be willing to take a statement on our views. All of the residents I’ve talked to are not in support of this plan and we want to do all we can to share our views and to hopefully stop approval of this re-zoning plan.
Manassas will put on fireworks on show on Labor Day weekend.
The show come as the city joined other surrounding jurisdictions by canceling or postponing their annual July 4 fireworks shows.

A homeless shelter could replace Grace Church in Dumfries.
The Town Council will hold a public hearing at its September 15 meeting to decide whether or not to issue a zoning text amendment to allow the shelter to open inside the church at 1006 Williamstown Drive.
Tropical Storm Laura is expected to reach hurricane status as it makes landfall in the Gulf Coast tonight. Extreme winds and flash flooding along the Northwest Gulf Coast are expected, as well as a catastrophic storm surge.
Laura’s trajectory will send it northeast from Texas and Louisiana.
Back in March, Novant Health UVA Health System suspended visitation for the majority of patients due to the new coronavirus. Now, patients will be allotted one healthy adult visitor who will go through a mandatory health screening.
