From September 14 to September 27, the Parkridge Center near Manassas will be hosting an outdoor dinosaur exhibit called “Jurassic Encounter.”

The exhibits are free and open to the public daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., regardless of the weather. No tickets or reservations are necessary and the exhibits are self-guided, stanchioned, and zero-touch. It will have 11 outdoor dinosaur environments with Jurassic sized dinosaurs and a digital scavenger hunt.

Robyn Schwenk is a full time registered nurse in Fredericksburg.

As of late, she’s been spending more time out of the office helping her child with the challenges that come with distance learning.

It appears a plan to put a homeless shelter in Dumfries has hit a snag.

Prince William County officials have asked that a request before the Dumfries Town Planning Commission tonight, to approve an amendment to the town’s zoning ordinance to allow homeless shelters in the town’s B1 zoning district, be removed from the agenda.


Obituaries

Alton E. Crews, 83 of Woodbridge, died September 13, 2020 at Envoy of Woodbridge. He was born December 17, 1936 in Georgia to the late George and Eva Marie (Scott) Crews. He is survived by his wife Gertrude Crews, and his sons, John Crews (Stephanie), James Crews (Sunok); grandkids, Joshua, Rachel, Rebecca Crews; and 5 siblings.

A Life Celebration Service will be held at 12pm September 25, 2020 at Evangel Baptist Church, 14836 Ashdale Ave, Dale City, VA 22193 followed by interment at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to the Alzheimers Association.
