Manassas leaders made clear that the E.G. Smith Baseball Complex, the land owned by the city where children come to play baseball and softball, is not for sale.

But, if someone wanted to buy it and build something that would bring thousands of jobs to the city, leaders wouldn’t hesitate to sell the property. The 18-acre site at the corner of Godwin Drive and Route 28 on the edge of the city has been on the Real Estate market for 20 years.

Congressman Rob Wittman (R, VA-1) today sent the below letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi requesting swift and bipartisan action on additional coronavirus relief legislation to assist small businesses, individuals, and families during the recovery process from the coronavirus pandemic.

This marks the second time Rep. Wittman has written Pelosi directly demanding action on a truly bipartisan relief bill.

Manassas police released the details of a breaking and entering where a man was nearly stabbed to death.

The victim stated his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend entered the residence through a window and once inside, grabbed a knife and attempted to stab the victim multiple times. The victim was able to lock himself in a bedroom and call the police.

The Prince William County Fire & Rescue System has begun collecting toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation. This year’s event will run through December 12, 2020.

Toys for Tots is a national charity program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Toys are collected and distributed to less fortunate children whose parents may be struggling financially and unable to purchase gifts during the traditional Christmas Holiday Season.


Quantico

It could be next spring when drivers will be able to make the full trip down Joplin Road.

The popular, winding, two-lane thoroughfare connects Independent Hill, near the Prince William County Public Schools headquarters, to Interstate 95, at the Quantico National Cemetery.


Prince William

A new, permanent ramp from Route 28 North to I-66 East will open on or about Friday morning, November 20. Drivers on Route 28 North will stay to the right to access I-66 East using the new ramp.

The new ramp is one of several major traffic pattern changes happening this year in the I-66 and Route 28 Interchange area as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
