STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Construction work to widen the two-mile stretch of U.S. 17, between Mc Lean Drive and Stafford Lakes Parkway, has geared up. Currently this stretch of U.S. 17 in Stafford County is six lanes, but it “narrows down very quickly to four,” said Virginia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Kelly Hannon.

“What we’re doing essentially is widening that road back out to six lanes all the way from I-95 to Stafford Lakes Parkway,” said Hannon.


MANASSAS, Va. — Manassas Councilman Mark Wolfe is under fire after city leaders approved $23,000 for the Manassas Ballet Theatre, where he and his wife serve as executive directors.

While the public funds have already been allocated, once again Monday the Manassas City Council discussed their vote to support the ballet.

MANASSAS, Va. — A woman was cut from a car after a four-car pile up tonight in Manassas, according to a witness on the scene.

It happened near the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Liberia Avenue just after 11 p.m. All four cars appeared to have been involved in a rear-end collision, witnesses said.


PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Neighbors and officials are going back and forth over the future of a rural piece of property called “Dove’s’s Landing.”

A rural area about five miles outside Manassas, the nearly 240-acre wooded site sits along the Occoquan River, and boasts views of the Broad and Cedar runs creeks. With nothing more than a cell phone tower on the land leased by Prince William County to Verizon, it’s a quiet cove of nature in one of Virginia’s fastest-growing counties.


WOODBRIDGE, Va. — The Prince William Area Agency on Aging (PWAAA) and the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) launched their Wheels to Wellness Program this spring, to provide free transit for the elderly, disabled and low-income individuals to medical appointments across the county.

Now, the transit agency announced it has received a second grant from the funding the Potomac Health Foundation to continue funding the service.
