VRE Searching for Coffee Vendor at Quantico

QUANTICO, Va. — Want to run your own coffee shop and sell train tickets? There may be an opportunity for you at the Quantico Virginia Railway Express station. The commuter railroad wants to talk to interested people about setting up shop at the train station that sits just outside the “crossroads of the Marine Corps.”

VRE is looking for a company to run a full-service coffee shop, offer food, sell train tickets, and maintain the restrooms, between 5 and 9:30 a.m., and between 3 and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on holidays when the trains don’t run.

Police Nab Alleged ‘Noodles’ Flasher

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police say they’ve caught the man who allegedly exposed himself to patrons at Noodles & Company restaurant in Woodbridge.

David Lynn Scriven, 57, was arrested Wednesday on charges of indecent exposure. He was found at a nearby shopping plaza and was arrested without incident, police said.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Several local officials, school administrators, students and community members gathered on the future site of the new Stafford High School for the project’s groundbreaking ceremony.

This $66 million dollar Capital Improvement (CIP) project was a heated point of debate in the county for the past several months, as divided supporters lobbied for a renovation to the existing Stafford Senior High School, while others felt that there should be a new school built on the property.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — The Hagerstown Suns may relocate to Fredericksburg, and that doesn’t bother the Potomac Nationals one bit.

Potomac Nationals owner Art Silber said his team pulls fans from Prince William and Fairfax counties, and the prospect of Fredericksburg having a team just 26 miles away from his will not be a problem, Frederickburg.com reports.

Trade Center Steel Returns to Woodbridge for Preservation

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Steel beams from the ill-fated World Trade Center made the return trip to the Prince William County Government Center on Monday.

Two years after a special ceremony was held at the government enter in Woodbridge heralding the arrival of the beams, the steel was placed on the Sean T. Connaughton Plaza where they will be preserved with an epoxy sealant for use in a permanent memorial on the nearby grounds.

After reviewing security footage at the CVS Pharmacy robbed at gunpoint this morning, police say the suspect’s vehicle appears to be a late model Chevrolet Camaro, not a Ford Mustang as first suspected.

Health officials warn those who traveled through Dulles Airport earlier this month that they could have been exposed to the measles.

Travelers who were in the international airport between 6 and 9 p.m. on Friday, June 7, in concourse A or B, in the International arrivals area, or in the baggage claim area of the main terminal many have been exposed to a person with measles, a statement from the Virginia Department of Health details.
