From Prince William police:

Abduction | Domestic Related On September 13 at 11:40PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3100 block of Arrowhead Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic disturbance. The victim, a 36-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal argument which escalated. During the encounter, the accused prevented the victim from leaving the room and, at one point, held her in a bathroom. The victim screamed which prompted neighbors to contact police. Officers arrived and, upon hearing additional screaming, forced entry into the home finding the victim in the bathroom. The victim was not injured. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Prince William County resident and former Prince William Republican Committee Chairman Bill Card was moved to write a letter to members of the County School Board after it, on Sept. 7, 2016, discussed changes to a non-discrimination policy.

School Board Chairman Ryan Sawyers wants to add the words “gender identity” and “sexual orientation” to the school division’s non-discrimination policy

All three victims are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries from apparent gunshot wounds. A preliminary description of suspects is of several Hispanic males occupying two vehicles that were seen leaving the area together – one dark gray Mercedes sedan and the other a dark Honda sedan with loud exhaust. The incident does not appear to have been random in nature and Manassas City Detectives are actively pursuing leads working with the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force and the Prince William County-Manassas-Manassas Park Vice Narcotics Task Force. This investigation is in its early stages with additional updates to follow.

The Prince William Chamber of Commerce has changed the name of one long-time event and added a fun new twist. Formerly known as State of Prince William, the newly formatted Direct Access: A Conversation with Local Leaders will be held on Thursday, September 29 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Red Rose Event Center (9705 Liberia Avenue, Suite 101; Manassas, VA 20110). State of Prince William has always been a popular event for us, offering our members a look at how the three municipalities we serve—Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park—work together. Direct Access represents a change in format aimed at making the event more interactive. Audience members can expect to not only gain insight but also to find answers for their concerns in real time,” says Chamber President & CEO Debbie Jones. She went on to say that the business community has a “responsibility to work side-by-side with local governments to improve the economic climate and enhance the local quality of life if they want to see their businesses thrive.”
