Brian A. Gilligan, age 74, of Dale City departed this life on July 3, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly forty-nine years, Linda Gilligan; cherished son, Matthew Paul Gilligan; and many adored nieces and nephews. Brian joins in rest his parents, James and Mary Gilligan; and his four brothers, James B. Gilligan, Jr., Harold Gilligan, Robert Gilligan, and D. Kevin Gilligan.

Brian served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1967. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and Holy Family Catholic Church in Dale City.


Alice Flory Lund, age 87 of Manassas, VA died at her residence on July 4, 2019.

She was born in Nokesville, VA on July 26, 1931, daughter of the late Walter L. Flory and A. LaVerne Lokey Flory. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Allison W. Lund; her brother H. Lee Flory and her sister Lois F. Batschelet.


Tanner Eugene Murphy peacefully passed on June 29, 2019, with family and friends by his side, after a fight against brain cancer. Dearly beloved son of Christine and Brian Murphy. Also survived by twin sister Ava Murphy grandparents Livia “Oma” Murphy, Jean “Mum Mum” and Joe “Pop Pop” Mindick; Michele Patton & John Mindick (siblings of his mother), along with a host of other family and friends. Viewing will be held July 9, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA 20110. Friends are invited to celebrate his life at 3:00 p.m. at 2 Silos Brewing Co., 9925 Discovery Blvd, Manassas, VA 20109. Donations may be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.


Judith Duggins Ryerse, 76, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away at home after years of living with Alzheimer’s Disease on July 2, 2019. A member of the Secular Franciscan Order, she is remembered as a devoted servant of God and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Fred Ryerse, Jr, their children and spouses, Fred Ryerse, III, John Ryerse, Mathew Ryerse, Jennifer Brister, and Teresa Overton, 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, her mother, Mary Grein, and her brother, James Duggins, Jr. She is pre-deceased by her father, James Duggins, Sr. and brother, Wayne Duggins.


Linda Hink Hanson of Woodbridge, Virginia passed away on July 2, 2019 at her home in the presence of her family. She was a graduate of Virginia Tech and received her Masters from Mary Mount University. She taught elementary art in the Prince William County school system for 32 years, retiring in the spring of 2018. She was an advocate for the Relay for Life, raised money for breast cancer research and a volunteer for the Girl Scouts in her local community. She is survived by her husband, Kevin R. Hanson, her children, Calvin and Colleen, her parents, Frederick and Janice Hink, her siblings, Karen, Fred Jr. and Sharon, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her godson, Jonathan Paul Hink. The family will be receiving visitors from 3 to 5pm, with a 5pm service, Tuesday, July 9th at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to INOVA Schar Cancer Institute, Annandale, VA.


Kristina “Krissy” Marie Doyle of Woodbridge, VA departed this life on July 1, 2019. She is survived by her loving husband Kevin Doyle; beloved sister, Sandra “Sandy” Bivens and beloved father Dustin “Dusty” Darnell as well as her cherished “fur babies” Lizzie and Penny. Her mother Linda Sue (Hall) Darnell, predeceased her.

Krissy was born in San Diego, CA on August 23, 1969, and as the child of a US Naval Submarine Master Chief, lived in many different parts of the country before settling in Northern Virginia where she attended Woodbridge Senior High School. It was there that Krissy discovered her first and lasting passion for performing on the stage. After high school, Krissy performed professionally at many theatres in the greater Washington, DC area. Krissy was known for her dynamic and powerful singing voice, irresistible charm and vivacious energy on the stage. She would later segue that energy into a very successful career as the Manager, Member and Data Services for the Society of American Florists.
