At 2:18 a.m. today, Virginia State Police responded to a three-vehicle crash with a confirmed fatality at eastbound I-64 at the 203-mile marker.

A man is missing after the skiff he was aboard capsized Sunday in the Rappahannock River.
Adam Napier, of Ruther Glen, who is in his late 20s or early 30s, went missing early Sunday afternoon in the river near the town of Port Royal. A second man, about the same age, was pulled from the river and was taken to a hospital and treated and released.
STAFFORD — (Press Release) The Rappahannock Regional Solid Waste Management Board (R-Board) will temporarily waive fees for the disposal of yard debris from residents beginning today August 21, 2019 through September 1, 2019, at the Regional Landfill at Eskimo Hill.
The Stafford and Fredericksburg area served by the Regional Landfill has experienced recent violent thunderstorms with high winds, causing many trees and limbs to fall. The R-Board wants to assist residents with clean-up activities.

The crash occurred today at 4:27 p.m. at 3318 Fisherman’s Way.
MANASSAS PARK — Fire crews were called to a small fire inside of a townhouse.
The fire was caused by a candle burning inside the home in the 8000 block of Duck Pond Drive, behind the Manassas Park Fire and Rescue Station. The occupant of the home called 911, and then evacuated, according to initial reports.

STAFFORD COUNTY — A tractor-trailer overturned at the intersection of Route 1 and Layhill Road.
About 100 gallons of diesel spilled from the truck into the nearby Claiborne Run, causing a major HAZMAT situation in the area, Stafford fire and rescue Chief Joseph Cardello. State authorities have been called in to help Stafford County crews with the clean up that is expected to take five to six hours.
