STAFFORD — A total of 29,000 students in Stafford County headed back to class today. It was the first time the school division started classes before Labor Day.
In North Stafford, students entered the new Anne. E. Moncure Elementary School, which sits about a mile from the old school on Garrisonville Road. The new 107,000 square foot building has 43 classrooms and is able to hold 890 students with 120 staff members.

STAFFORD — The rural roads of Stafford are failing to support the county’s continued urban development, and residents are speaking out.
Many in recent months have pressed elected members of the Stafford Board of Supervisors, demanding for action on a variety of transportation issues. All have expressed common frustrations about the time it takes the Virginia Department of Transportation to safety concerns.
Thousands of people packed Stafford Marketplace on Tuesday night for the annual National Night Out celebration.

An unidentified female remains in a hospital after she was shot on Saturday, August 3 at a home on New Hope Church Road in White Oak.
