The Stafford County Board of Supervisors is asking residents to borrow up to $50 million for multiple road improvements.

Why it matters: If approved, the county would go into debt in order to pay for the road projects, limiting its ability to borrow money for other local government needs.


Stafford County will contract with the company FieldTurf to replace the synthetic turf on two athletic fields in Smith Lake Park which is located in North Stafford. 

Why it matters: After 11 years of continuous use by youth and adult sports organization the turf has to be replaced.


The portion of the Brooke Road safety improvement project requiring the closure near Stagecoach Road has concluded.

Despite some setbacks, including the wettest year on record and materials failures that delayed the reopening of the road to thru-traffic, the project is still scheduled to finish ahead of its contractual completion date of March 2020.


The City of Manassas is considering privatizing its library services as a current agreement with the Prince William Public Library System is set to end July 1.

The initial startup cost budget is $578,000, with an annual $1.2 million operating budget.
