Update from Virginia State Police at 8:33 p.m 

A Fredericksburg man wanted for questioning in a fatal Culpeper County crash has been arrested by state police. Earl J. Nicholson Jr., 38, was charged with one felony count of hit and run and is being held without bond at the Culpeper Regional Jail. Additional charges are pending.


The emergency service plan will affect afternoon commuters on December 5, who rely on OmniRide Express buses to take them home.

Express Buses will only pick up passengers at the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station, at a stop next at Greyhound Bus station.


The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce outlined its legislative agenda for the upcoming General Assembly session.

Henderson Farms will once again get their lease renewed by Stafford County in order to continue farming at Duff McDuff Green Memorial Park.

Henderson Farms, a privately-owned business from Fredericksburg, has been growing corn and soybeans on the land since before it was donated to the county in 2010 by the land’s owner Mr. Duff Green Jr. as part of an agreement before his passing in 2009.


Utility work will begin soon at the intersection of George Street and Sophia Street in the City of Fredericksburg in preparation for the Chatham Bridge rehabilitation project.

The Chatham Bridge over the Rappahannock River will be closed to all traffic for an improvement project by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).


A suspect behind a string of residential burglaries in the Staffordboro Commuter Lot area was arrested on Saturday by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after a homeowner caught the suspect breaking into his home.

On November 9, 2019, at  9:29 p.m., members of the Special Problems Unit were called to reports of a suspect breaking into a residence on the 120 block of Doc Stone Road.
