Hal Parrish II is hanging up the mayor’s sash at the end of the year. The three-term Manassas City mayor announced he won’t seek reelection this fall.
Parrish gathered a group of about 25 people — mostly family, friends, and fellow city council members — Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Okras restaurant in Downtown Manassas. While there, he went around the room recognizing each person, praising them individually, and then announced his retirement, sources told Potomac Local News.
David was born on April 9, 1944 and passed away on February 27, 2020. David was a resident of Manassas, Virginia.

When drivers head out on Manassas streets might want to take it slower, and be extra cautious.
The number of traffic crashes is at a five-year high in the city. When comparing 2019 to the previous year, the number of crashes rose 7%, from 648 in 2018 to 648, respectively.

Officers were called to the 8300 block of Plantation Laneat 10:52 p.m. Sunday for a report of a found body. The body was identified as Eddie Daniel Munoz, a 24, of Manassas.

Dr. Yemonja Smalls is bringing her art to the Center for the Arts in Manassas in a current exhibit titled “It’s Complicated”, as well as a talk, book reading, and signing to follow in March.
The art exhibit will go from February 7 – March 27, followed by Yemonja’s talk in the Caton Merchant Gallery at the Center for the Arts on Friday, March 6, from 6 – 7 p.m. There will also be a book reading and signing by Yemonja on Saturday, March 14 from 2 – 4 p.m.
