A total of 57 Facebook donors contributed $2,060 to watch Manassas City Councilman Ian Lovejoy give himself a haircut live on Facebook.

All proceeds went to Old Town Strong in support of the out of work restaurant bar and staff in Old Town Manassas.


The Dark Star Saloon is known for its straight-from-the-farm to the table philosophy when it comes to its food.

It’s also known for its dining room covered in memorabilia celebrating the 1960s, with nods to bands like “The Who” and “The Grateful Dead.” In fact, the name of the saloon is taken from a Grateful Dead song released in 1968.


Dina Qureshi, a 26-year old engineer with Dominion Energy, bought a sewing machine.

For months, it sat unused — until now.


Stafford Schools has taken a giant leap by announcing a graduation ceremony for high school seniors, joining Manassas City Public Schools in being one of the first area school divisions to set a date amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The tentative graduation date is August 1 at 8 a.m., but according to Superintendent Scott Kizner, nothing is set-in-stone. 


After years of discussion on whether it would or it wouldn’t, it appears Manassas will stay with the Prince William County Library System.

As far back as 2016, the city officials had talked about leaving the public library system, of which it had been a member of since 1976, in favor of building its own library.
