After a staff member tests positive for Coronavirus, the Rappahannock Area Health District will temporarily reduce clinical services.

From May 19, 2020, to May 28, 2020, RAHD will not be offering in-person clinical services. This includes maternity care, treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, and family planning services, which will be delivered via telemedicine. Patients will also be referred to appropriate community partners or neighboring health districts.


The Stafford County Board of Supervisors decided to cancel the July 4 firework celebration this year due to budgeting cuts and social distance guidelines.

The cancelation comes after a $601,000 reduction in the county parks and rec budget.


Two unrelated cases of reckless drivers fleeing law enforcement both ended in major car crashes.

Construction on road projects could spell headaches for Interstate 95 travelers this week.

In Fredericksburg, construction crews continue to build the new Route 652 overpass, which will be located between Interstate 95: Exit 133 and Exit 136, in Stafford County, as part of the I-95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project , according to Darragh Frye of VDOT Virginia. Crews are currently building the 10-mile extension of the I-95 Express Lanes in the median of I-95 from south of Exit 143 to the vicinity of Exit 133. Construction on the $565 million project began in July 2019.


Residents in Stafford County won’t be penalized for paying personal property taxes or utility bills after their due dates.

Penalties for personal property and utility bills have temporarily been reduced to zero. The move by the Stafford County Board of Supervisors comes as many people have found themselves either furloughed or unemployed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.


A Spotsylvania mall reopened its 12o in-store businesses while following social distancing rules.

With recognizing the directives of the Virginia Department of Health and Forward Virginia Phase 1 requirements, businesses at Spotsylvania Towne Centre will begin reopening additional in-store/in-person operations on Friday, May 15, 2020.
