Northern Virginia Community College classes are going to start on time, but for the most part, they will not in-person.

In a statement on June 8 made by the college’s president, Anne M. Kress, it was announced that the college’s classes would begin as scheduled on August 24 and be “offered in [NOVA’s] approved distance-learning formats, with the majority being offered either through NOVA Online or through synchronous delivery via Zoom.”


A fire broke out in a Fredericksburg apartment complex last Tuesday, but no firefighters or civilians were injured.

Firefighters were called to the 2300 block of Cowan Boulevard at 5:35 p.m. When they arrived they found a fire in a second-floor apartment with heavy smoke from the back of the structure.


An argument a Homestyle Inn turned violent and one man suffered stab wounds.

A Manassas police report states they’re searching for a man who stabbed the victim on Sunday, June 7, at  11:15 a.m.  Police were called to the motel at 9913 Cockrell Road, near downtown, for a report on a stabbing incident.


The Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton is offering a way to bring entertainment to its community with a drive-in movie theater. 

The center will open a drive-in movie theater on its 55-acre campus on June 12, with movies showing on Friday and Saturday evenings. A 40-foot screen will be set up to display the films.
