Stafford County has enabled all of its students to have an electronic device for the next school year.
On June 16, the Stafford County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the purchase of 9,000 Chromebooks for students, a motion that has been in the works for months. Funding for the $1.1 million purchase will likely come from the CARES Act.

Manassas public works crews spent part of their day yesterday scrubbing graffiti from an exterior wall at the city’s downtown parking garage.

The correct number of children is eight, said Prince William fire and rescue spokesman Matt Smolksy. Initially, the reported total was 12.
Smolksy also tells us the fire was sparked by a smoldering cigarette left on a balcony.
A police pursuit in North Stafford ended with a vehicle careening through a gate and crashing into a ditch, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office tells us.
On June 15 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Deputy E. Taylor observed a Mitsubishi Lancer speeding on Garrisonville Road in the area of Doc Stone Road. The vehicle then proceeded through a red light onto Salisbury Drive without stopping.

Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department Chief Joseph Cardello tells us:
The American Red Cross is assisting a family after a fire broke out at their home.
Fire and rescue crews were called to the Olde Forge neighborhood in southern Stafford County at 8:01 p.m.
In light of the ongoing pandemic, all parades and fireworks shows have been canceled in Fredericksburg, Stafford, Manassas Park, Manassas, and Prince William.
